Fully managed service

At Paradisi we offer a personal service and stress-free experience. We are happy to fit in with your schedule. Everything is taken care of from design, that ensures we create the room / environment that you really want; planning (not usually necessary); groundworks, both site clearance and foundations and the build through to handing you the key. Essentially we care from start to finish.

We discuss and agree the materials and finishes before we quote and if necessary will carry out a site survey to ensure the quote we give is accurate and will not change. The quality of our work, level of service, general efficiency and short time on site keeps our clients happy. The intention is to keep our clients for life. We always clean up and keep your garden tidy. Once we have completed your garden room we are more than happy to discuss designs for landscaping the garden if you feel it needs a make-over to match your new beautiful garden room.

Our process

Book a convenient date and time for us to visit you and the site to discuss your garden room needs. During the consultation process (around 1 hour) our team will visit you to assess and measure the site. During our informal chat we gather as much information as possible from you about your tastes and how your garden room will ultimately be used. If you have mood boards prepared, we will look to reflect their tone and style. We will answer any questions you have. We can make recommendations based on our existing range of designs or we can offer a bespoke solution that is absolutely tailored to your  personal requirements–nothing is impossible!

We will cover window and door requirements, interior fixture & fittings as well as exterior cladding. We will also discuss site clearance and what further preparation if any is needed as well electrical supply to the garden room. We will discuss any potential access issues that may be present, and, if necessary, apply to the council for an LDC (Lawful Development Certificate) or full planning permission on your behalf.

The design

Once we have gathered all necessary information and obtained any necessary permits, the Paradisi team of designers, architects, structural engineers and interior designers will come together to carry out the design and structure of your garden room.

We excel at devising out-of-the-box creative solutions for our clients: no garden building project is too challenging.

Following a site visit, we should have all the information we need to be able to create an initial proposal for you to consider.

Concept to final design

We will provide you with an initial drawing of your proposed garden room showing elevations, window and door types and positions along with external cladding choices.

Accompanied by a detailed quote (subject to any further changes made at next stage).

We are happy to re-visit the site or discuss further by phone to go through any questions you may have or refinements and alterations you wish to make to the proposal. Based on your feedback and subsequent discussions we will make any final amendments to the design and re-submit this to you for your final approval prior to manufacture. This gives you the time and option to make sure your garden room will be made to suit your exact requirements.

Planning or LDC

Should your garden room require planning permission we can act as your agent on your behalf running the planning application along side the production schedule.

We produce all relevant documents and drawings for the application. It can take 10-12 weeks pending planning authority. Work will progress once planning permission is granted.

Lawful Development Certificate (LDC)

If planning is not required but you would like to apply for a Lawful Development Certificate to inform the Council that you are building a garden room that meets the criteria of permitted development, then we can manage this as well.

Order placement

Once you have given your final approval we will place an order for the material for your project and give you a provisional date for site build. This tends to be 6-8 weeks from approval but we will always work with you to suit your schedule.

If you require any site clearance, this will take place prior to site build or foundation work.

To confirm the order and delivery, a 50% initial payment is required (we accept bank transfer). A further 40% is required after the main structure is erected and final 10% on day of satisfactory completion of your garden room.

The build

Site clearance

We can also manage any site clearance prior to Ground Works

Groundworks

Our preferred method is to use ground screws. Ground screws are as strong as concrete foundations and meet all necessary building regulations.

Garden room construction

The construction process will be fully managed by Paradisi, with your personal requirements in mind. After laying the foundations, the garden room project will begin to take shape swiftly, and the entire on-site process will be completed in around 2 to 3 weeks, with minimal disruption. We always try to facilitate external access to your garden, in order to avoid needing to enter through your house.

After building is complete, we will enact a thorough clean-up, leaving the room ready for furnishing. The complete process from consultation to completion of the garden room can take less than 3 months in total: we aim to deliver in a timely, efficient and cost-effective manner.

Electrical certificate

All electrical work is tested and an NICEIC certificate is given. This is to ensure a high standard and of course gives peace of mind. It is also a legal requirement.

Superior quality

Our constant pursuit to innovate, use modern materials and employ smart thinking leads us to making use of cutting edge technological solutions to optimise space, create less waste and design sustainable, energy efficient buildings. At Paradisi, we are committed to an unwavering standard of top quality, uncompromising craftsmanship and are constantly seeking to refine and improve our approach by integrating emerging technological innovation into our prefabricating techniques. The use of advanced prefabricating techniques, also enables us to spend our time effectively and efficiently, with minimal on-site presence.

Advanced prefabricating techniques

Our garden rooms are constructed using Structural Insulated Panel (SIP), the next generation of timber based construction. These panels have a high performance fibre–free rigid urethane insulation core, sandwiched between two layers of Orientated Strand Board ensuring your garden room is costeffective to keep warm and usable throughout the year, regardless of the season.

SIPs are fabricated using timber from sustainable sources and use less timber than conventional timber frames. They are one of the most economical and eco-friendly forms of construction around at the moment. SIP insulation exceeds the current Building Regulation requirements on its own.

Our SIPs construction method means your garden room is mostly engineered and created before it arrives in your garden so we are on-site for only 2-4 weeks depending on the size and finish – this again minimises noise and disruption to you and your neighbours. Less damage to your surrounding garden.

Ground screws

At Paradisi once the site has been cleared our prefered foundation type is ground screws. Compared to a concrete slab foundation the installation of ground screws has distinct advantages such as more environmentally friendly and requires no digging and therefore is much quicker (usually completed in one day or less) and cleaner with less noise, very little mess and virtually no waste material. This in turn causes less damage to the garden and negligible disturbance to you and your neighbours. Ground screws are easy to install even when access is limited and are less dependent on weather conditions. Ground screws are also perfect for gardens with big trees and especially protected trees because they cause virtually no damage to roots in the vicinity.

Roof

Paradisi roofs are EPDM rubber that carry a 25 or 30 years guarantee. Of course we can suggest and supply other roof types such as a living sedum roof or pitched slate roof. We can add a rooflight or a dome.

Timber

All timber used in your garden room is high pressure treated timber, mainly C24 for its superior strength and load bearing. It is regularised by planing all over with rounded corners for smoother finish and more comfortable handling.

Doors and windows

There are many door types and materials to choose from but whether you choose aluminium or wood, sliding doors, bi-folding doors, French doors, Art Deco-style doors, open corner doors or something else, we only use the highest quality materials together with hinges, locks and runners that are engineered to continue to look and work as they should for many decades.

A popular choice is the bi-folding doors with the slim floor to ceiling frames that create a completely open frontage and flush stepfree threshold for that seamless indoor and outdoor living.

Our modern doors have thermal break technology that allows us to create doors with advanced levels of thermal insulation for comfort and reduced energy bills. Other advantages are the fully tested locks and security, the integrated drainage systems and of course they can be finished in any colour you want.
