Home gym

The brief

Our client had very specific wishes. They wanted to enjoy the advantage of a home gym, giving them the convenience of zero travelling time but with the flexibility to potentially use it as a garden office in the future. They also wanted to site the home gym in a particular area of their irregular shaped garden which meant that a bespoke garden room was the best solution.

The solution

Paradisi Garden rooms came up with the perfect solution, creating a trapezoid shaped room to make the best use of the available space. Additional height was an important consideration because of need for over-head weight-lifting and use of running machines etc.

At 28m square the building did not need planning permission but as the garden is overlooked by neighbours, Paradisi Garden Rooms submitted and had approved a Lawful Development Certificate (LDC) prior to the build.

Three panel aluminium sliding doors at the front and two frosted side windows give maximum light to the room and access to a stunning sunken patio. Internal plastered walls painted in Farrow & Ball colours give it a stylish look and a rubberised flooring laid for practicality. Full air-conditioning was installed for maximum comfort during a work-out.

The result is a garden gym that is perfect for our clients own personal fitness regime, as well as being able to accommodate other functions in the future if required – so a good investment.
